“After being assaulted in 1998 by a stranger, reiki helped me heal from the emotional turmoil, overcome feeling violated, help my body to heal faster, stay calm when dealing with hospitals and police, and dealing with the overall event much easier. I now look at the incident as an event to point me in the right direction and use my experiences to help others on their path.”
Sophia's healing journey began after graduating high school in the early 1990s. She began her journey by earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. While living in Oshkosh she was introduced to a crystal shop named The Crystal Connection. The shop not only sold crystals, magical items, cymbals, bowls, and books; but also had reiki and other energy work services as well. It was at this store that Connie was introduced to the world of reiki and energy work.
In 1998, Sophia was assaulted by a stranger and had incurred various injuries. She was given a reiki session by 2 reiki practitioners shortly after the incident. Seeing how reiki helped her deal with the aftermath of the assault, she began studying the ways of reiki, dragon magick, and other forms of energy work.
She would continue her studies, but took a break from energy work when she joined a metal touring band in 2001. Writing and playing music became her focus, but much of her studies would influence lyrics and sounds of the songs. Along this part of her journey, Sophia would travel all over North America and meet many people from various parts of the world.
The musical part of her journey would pause in 2017 and focus would return to energy work. Sophia began taking formal classes in Reiki and was certified as a Reiki Master Teacher in October of 2018. However, she returned to the "stage" again in 2022 when a friend reached out to help with a few shows/performances. The "helping out" thus turned into joining the group The Courtesan & the Cabin Boy full time as a musical/fire performer.
Sophia is certified as a Reiki Master Teacher of the Usui Method of Reiki and certified for Animal Energy Healing and Reiki. She is also member of the Reiki Healing Association.
